Description of John’s work

John’s artwork tends to lean towards impressionism, initiating from realism.  His attention will wander from the intricate details and simplifying shapes  he sees  with the play of darks and light.  Shades and shadows are the tangibles used to create interest.

John has shown that his paintings reflect variety in color, subject matter and techniques.  The only boundary is the unknown.  When selecting his subject matter , John prefers to see and paint the unusual.  It may manifest itself in unusual views, color, objects or people.  He leans toward having a humanistic elements to provide familiar identity.
